Traffic School 4 Busy People
Our California Online Traffic School is fully licensed by the California DMV and recognized by all Los Angeles County Courts. Unlike many other traffic schools that require payment upfront, you take our course and only pay after passing the final test. Plus, with unlimited free retakes, you're guaranteed to pass!
According to California Rule of Court 4.104, court clerks are authorized to approve requests for traffic violator school attendance when a defendant with a valid driver's license asks to enroll in an 8-hour traffic school under specific Vehicle Code sections. This typically applies to common violations such as speeding, stop sign infractions, and similar offenses.
You are generally NOT eligible for traffic school if:
You attended traffic school for a previous violation committed in the last 18 months of your present violation.
When cited, you had a commercial driver's license and were driving a commercial vehicle.
You were cited for a speeding violation in which the speed alleged is more than 25 miles over the speed limit.
You have outstanding Failure to Appear or Failure to Pay charges.
Cellphone tickets are not eligible for traffic school.
NOTICE: If you are eligible for traffic school and choose not to take the course, your automobile insurance could be negatively impacted. However, if you complete a traffic school program, a traffic school conviction within any 18-month period will be kept confidential and will not appear on your driving record. NOTE: Traffic schools will charge a fee to enroll in their school. This is separate from the administrative fee charged by the court.
Due Date: Alpine County Superior Court allows you 60 days to complete a California DMV-approved 8-hour traffic school course. The 60 days starts from date of payment, or your appearance in court.
Commercial Drivers: You are eligible for traffic school if you have a commercial license and were NOT driving a commercial vehicle when you were cited. After successful completion of traffic violator school, no points will be added to your DMV record. However, the infraction will NOT be reported as a confidential conviction (California Vehicle Code Section 42005). Traffic school is a program where you will receive instruction in driving and traffic safety that can enhance your driving knowledge and skill level. Your successful completion of a course from one of the DMV-licensed traffic schools may allow your violation to be masked from public view on your driving record and will remove the point from your record. This can prevent your insurance company from seeing your violation and raising your insurance rates.
The court may grant a request to attend traffic school for an eligible violation if you have not attended for a previous violation that was committed within 18 months (violation date to violation date) of your present violation. You are not eligible for Traffic School if you were driving a commercial vehicle or carrying hazardous material when you were cited.
NOTICE: If you are eligible and decide not to attend traffic school your automobile insurance may be adversely affected. For drivers with a noncommercial driver’s license, one conviction in any 18-month period will be held confidential and not show on your driving record if you complete a traffic violator school program. For drivers with a commercial driver’s license, one conviction in any 18-month period will show on your driving record without a violation point if you complete a traffic violator school program.
After you have completed the course, the traffic school will electronically inform the court of your completion. You do not need to notify the court of your completion. It is not necessary for you to send the court a copy of the certificate of completion. If you wish to verify the court received your certificate, you may call the court thirty days after you complete the course.
